Ahhh, skin care! I love trying out new products, but I’m always quick to go back to things that I’ve used for a while. This post is technically sponsored as I mentioned above, but I’ve actually been using these items for years. With the exception of the Simple wipes…I just started using those thanks to a sample I got in a Walmart Beauty Box; they were so good, that I’ve incorporated them into my routine!

For me, the basis of any skin care routine revolves around three things: simple, effective, and inexpensive. I don’t have time for elaborate procedures or long wait times. I’ve got so much going on, it has to be easy and fast! Additionally, it has to WORK, while also being inexpensive. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll pay for quality products, but ultimately I want something cost effective to keep my wallet happy!
So, here are my favorites skin care items. You can buy them anywhere, but I purchased these at Walmart.  Every Walmart is different, but I found all of these in the same aisle, where the facial cleaners are located. And if you’d like to skip the store and stick these all in your cart, click here! The best part? My total (sans my other items) was less than $20!

#1 Pond’s Caring Classic Dry Skin Cream (morning)

Before I put on makeup, I always moisturize my face. The Pond’s dry skin cream is light, smells wonderful, and is a great prep before your makeup. I don’t usually put SPF on before makeup, because my foundation (my favorite is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream) has SPF 50 in it, so I use this first, let it dry, and then apply my makeup. I apply it directly with clean hands, and a little goes a long way!

#2 Noxzema Classic Clean Cream (night)

This stuff is great for the shower. I start with this to cleanse, and then follow up with the scrub below to make sure I got everything off. The texture is a bit weird, I’ll say that up front, but you just get used to it! I can’t even describe it, but I LOVE the smell!! And, it works. It’s definitely a classic, just like the name says! It also leaves your skin feeling really tingly and smells wonderful (it’s the eucalyptus…it’s incredible) and awake, so if you’re not a morning person, this would definitely help revive you in the AM! (I’m not a morning person, but literally I hate washing my face in the morning so I just don’t. Oops. Whatever!)

#3 St. Ives Apricot Scrub (night)

Omg. Literally, I’ve been using this stuff since high school. I use it in the shower at night all over my body to exfoliate. I use it very lightly over my face (it’s a great exfoliant but doing it too hard won’t feel super great!), as well as my arms because they’ve got KP, and exfoliating frequently helps it.
If you’re wondering about the textures of these scrubs and creams, here you go!

#4 Simple Sensitive Cleansing Wipes (for travel!)

These are the wipes I got in my Walmart Beauty Box a while ago, and I’ve been buying them ever since. I travel a lot for work, and these little packets are perfect for travel!

I haven’t used that St. I’ves Apricot scrub in years now that I think about it. It’s the only scrub I’ve liked for it’s texture–all the rest have too few exfoliating pieces per glob. I’m currently using a facial scrubbing brush to clear it off.

I’m curious–do the other scrubs have as much exfoliating power as the apricot scrub?

I’ve tried a TON of scrubs, but I’m really picky about what I use on my face. The only other scrub I’ll use on my face is one of the Posh exfoliating bars, or my KP duty scrub by Derma Doctor (I think…can’t remember for sure). There’s tons that I’ll use on my legs or arms to exfoliate, but the St. Ives is definitely my favorite!!!! And no, I think the pieces are the best in this scrub 🙂
