I love cute little kid’s crafts, but unfortunately my baby is still kind of small to be making things! Nevertheless, I insisted on getting her a pumpkin, and making a “Baby’s First Halloween” pumpkin. It was a bit of a fail, but it’s still cute! If you’re looking to do this craft with your baby, it would help if she knows how to uncurl her hand 😉
What you need:
- Pumpkin
- Non-toxic paint
- Paper plate
- WIPES!!!
We decided to make this outside, but if you do it indoors, grab some newspaper to make sure you don’t get paint anywhere! Keep the wipes on hand, and get ready!
Directions:
Pour a very tiny amount of paint onto a paper plate. Put your baby’s hand on the paint, or use your hand or a paint brush to put a layer of paint on her hand. Make sure the paint isn’t dripping off! Then, press her hand on the pumpkin. Simple as that!
Except in my case, where Little Bear wouldn’t uncurl her fist and her handprint ended up looking like an alien print, but hey! It was still cute! (and she looks pretty proud of herself) Notice I’m covered in paint…Make sure you have those wipes ready, for you and the baby!!!!
I wrote “Baby’s First Halloween” on the pumpkin, and dressed it up with a couple other pumpkins for a little display on the porch.
Have an awesome week everyone!
If you like it, pin it!

This is such a cute idea, Meredith! Your face in the one picture is too funny but it looks like your sweet girl enjoyed painting her first pumpkin 🙂

Hey that’s a super great idea! My girls painted their pumpkins. They mixed all the paint together so it was a grey brown colour…..eedless to say their pumpkins looked disgusting lol
